The Alchemy of Minerals and Light through Color

Shankari Empowering Jewelry There has been much discussion throughout my experience as an alchemist regarding the nature of minerals. Their source and their potency are often in question. Do lab grown crystals have less power or more power for transformation than Earth grown ones? Does color have a healing force all of its own? The basic principal of alchemy is this: it is the science of taking many different components and through a process of magical intent, ritual, and intuitive knowing creates something altogether new and independently powerful, from the some of the parts.

I am an alchemist. This is what I do. I make weapons of Light for the healers of the world. I am an armor-er of sorts, I create the shields and wands, the rings of power and the pendants to inspire your true purpose… This is my gift to the world and my pleasure is the effective service I can provide to the citizens of earth who are empowered through my work.

I am not a gemologist! This is something you can go to school for and get a degree and be right and wrong about on paper. The work I do is proved on the battlefield of life! To create my Talismans of Power I use what I intuit is appropriate, what resonates for me as I sit in trance surrounded by my stones, hearing their notes and selecting out the songs of power from the plethora of choice the universe provides me with at any given time. Does a Quan Yin piece in resin have less power than one cut in Lapis? Does a lab grown pink sapphire have less power to create the resonance of joy and laughter than an earth grown pink sapphire? What is the difference in the frequency and why?

I am an ancient soul, an artist, alchemist from millennia past. My work is effective and empowering, healing and inspiring, because it touches the ancient memories within the soul and strengthens the human intent for evolution and freedom. This is my role. I have been well educated for this purpose, however not in the mainstream or the internet!

In my life I have been extremely fortunate to have been a member of three different mystery schools over the years from the age of 21. From these schools I learned many different techniques for reaching the same outcome. That outcome being: “The freedom of the spirit to express its highest purpose and to live in joy”. This is in fact what we are all ultimately seeking! We may describe it as a better job, more money, a partner or a profession yet all these are simply the chosen venue along our human journey for opportunities for evolution within the spirit to bring us to live in joy.

When I was 36 I moved from the Northern Beaches of Sydney Australia to the West Coast of Bali Indonesia. I arrived with $500, 4 children and a message from my own guidance that my mission was to create weapons of Light for the future light workers of the world. In 1988 the term ‘Light Worker” was hardly common and I was unsure as to whether I was hearing the true voice of spirit or the crazy voice of a schizophrenic mind… however with no where else to go and nothing else to do but die a slow sad death in the suburbs, I took the plunge. It took three years of grueling dedication to the vision (tenacity is my middle name!) and then I was rewarded with a mentor.

Tony Duquette The arrival of a mentor at the end of 1992 changed my life dramatically. Suddenly I was whisked from the jungle of West Bali where I had a well (no running water), beside my satellite dish (so I could know when the end of the world was due: CNN was a revelation to the People of Indonesia and finally catalyzed them into deposing Pak Suharto their dictator of the past 42 years!) This was the local environment as I began my journeys to Hollywood and Beverley Hills. My mentor was a powerful magician and artist who won the “Toni Award for his costumes for the Broadway production of”Camelot” with Richard Burton and Julie Andrews. His name was Tony Duquette , a tall white man from Michigan who spent his childhood dreaming of “The Silk Road” and made all his friends join him in his creation of the “caravan” in the backyard in Michigan… eventually used to cross his fantasy of China. He moved into Hollywood during the war and was mentored himself in interior design by Lady Mendel and American married to a European Peer hiding out in Hollywood through the war. Mary Pickford was the maid of honor at Tony’s wedding and Vincent Minnelli was his best buddy, he produced a number of sets for Vincent’s Movies. This is how he came to be Liza Minnelli’s Godfather.

Why am I telling you all this history? Because I trust from this assortment of information you will understand my influences and my intent with the materials I use in my work Tony was a profound influence in my life. He gave me the greatest gift of all. He told me to be as big as I could be! All my life I had met people who would look at my work and say with a disparaging tone….”have you got something smaller? This is a little big for my taste!” I am a double 9 vibration, that’s destiny and expression! I am a double Leo, that’s Sun and Moon! What choice do I have but to be big! I am by definition a big, loud, potent, tenacious, humanitarian, teacher!
When I met Tony, I showed him my work and he said to me: “Have you got anything bigger?” This was music to my ears! I felt as if the lid had just been removed from the pot of my potential and I could finally grow into what I had the power to become in a fertile environment of approval for my size and vision. I finally had an audience that wanted what I could do best!

I worked with Tony for 6 years, I traveled between LA and Bali twice a year over that period and he taught me many things. The most powerful lesson was one of alchemy. As I said he was a powerful magician and a great visionary.
We had an ongoing discussion about the materials he asked me to include in the pieces I was producing for him. He said he was an alchemist and an artist and as such he had the right to use any materials he felt worked for the purpose of his vision. In fact he once created an entire exhibition of archangels made from garbage! He did this through enrolling and including the art students of San Francisco and personally buying a disused Synagogue for 3 million dollars to house the exhibition. Herb Alpert a personal friend did the music. He and his wife launched the show in celebration of the bi centennial of the city. It burned to the ground through accident (and therefore received compensation through insurance) only 2 weeks before the earth quake in San Francisco brought to the ground every other building in the street as an act of God (these were not covered by insurance!) As I said he was a great teacher and a powerful sorcerer. He taught me to see outside my small world of right and wrong, good and bad materials and to work with energy and color. He once had me create a necklace where I mounted rubies on pieces of a vegetable steamer that had been gold plated! His finished pieces were extraordinary works of art, full of power and magic. Far beyond the individual energy of the components he created pure magic, as indeed the time of “Camelot” would indicate.

Throughout the six years of our time together (he died on the 9th of the 9th at 9pm in 1999) nine is the number of completion, the humanitarian, world service, it has within itself the power to create and sustain change through compassion and the right use of power (magic). He showed me over and over again that great art is high magic and that sacredness is a state of mind. He would say, think of the voodoo readers in New Orleans, to them a set of old buttons and moldy chicken bones are sacred, to a highlander in New Guinea a safety pin is most precious and sacred, able to do a powerful work of magic! Does the Voodoo work any less because they are chicken bones rather than ivory carvings? No…Does magic really have anything to do with the price of the original ingredients? No…Does something have more power because it costs you more to own it? The answer to this is yes! The more you invest in yourself, the more the universe has evidence that you are a worthy investment and will create more of the same in your life!

To stretch your sense of self to own something that demands the best from you is a worthy way of activating your evolution. We all do this at different times, in different ways. I remember once looking to purchase a house in Sydney and the Real Estate agent confided to me that the average person always buys a house a little bit more than they can afford easily… aspiration is a great thing, it encourages all parts of our sense of “self” to grow in our own eyes. Of course I also purchased a house a bit more than I could afford easily!

Tony taught me to be as big as I could be and to give up all sense of limitation. He was an old man when I met him and I felt completely privileged to have access to such a powerful creative spirit in the last days of his life. We were very similar in many ways, so I can say with a clear conscience that their was much that he taught me by example… not to do! I could see myself in my worst moment when I was in his company and he was out of balance. He was my mentor and I am in his debt. He never allowed the general opinion of the masses to influence his work. He was a man of great vision and powerful magic, an innovator, who taught me to be as big as I could be and as creative as a magician as I had the power and wisdom to become. On his last trip to Bali, sitting in the restaurant of my Retreat Center by the Sacred Balian River, looking out to the Java Sea, he gave me the best compliment I could ever hope for from him.
He was sweating and shaking with the heat and a variation on Parkinson’s ravaging his body. He grabbed me by the knee as we sat next to each other, and squeezed it until it hurt. Then he spat at me as he spoke… “I hate you…. Really I hate you…. I think you might be better than me!” I laughed out loud as he shook his head with the desperation and powerlessness of old age. I replied; “It will be my pleasure and my privilege to make you right!” On that note he left for the airport, and died at his appointed time a few months later.

I am a child of my times and my influences. I am not a jeweler who ornaments ornamental women. I empower, potential powerful individuals through I am a powerful alchemist whose role is to create weapons of light in the form of jewelry for the women and men of the world who are ready to take on more power!

Carol Pepper What happens when you wear my pieces? You are no longer invisible, you are suddenly seen for the truth of what you are and your true talents begin to be revealed to the world. Or perhaps you are wealthy and successful and you are a healer of a different sort, working in finance or entertainment. One of my very good clients was recently given an award within the finance industry, the best consultant for Fortune 500 players, Carol Pepper was honored at a dinner thrown by the Forbes Club.

My work is to support the young and the old; it is color blind, does not see class, culture or politics. In a completely non judgmental way it activates the light body of the wearer in a positive manner even if they have no knowledge or “belief” in its ability to do so. You do not need to be a victim to work with these powerful tools for change. Some of my more powerful clients use my pieces for protection and abundance… like Patti La Belle, who received her world music award, down the red carpet in Los Vegas wearing my creation to support and protect her in her moment of triumph. La Toya Jackson turned up at court to support her brother go through his new flirtation with the media, protected and empowered by one of my magical creations that looks like jewelry but is in fact magic in action!

We have come from a time when women were considered ornamental in most patriarchal social situations. As in India where women wear the family wealth as gold bangles around their wrists and necks, in the west women have been given jewels to indicate the power and prestige of their partner. This way their was a sense of ‘ownership’ added to the experience of wearing valuable beautiful objects…. You belong to me… I belong to you…
Owning people became illegal in 1833. However in our deepest memory we can recall that sense of belonging that being a serf gave us! No responsibility, no opportunities, and no hope for change… fatalism!

The whole purpose of this second Renaissance… this “New Age” is to become free! To live out the possibility of a life filled with joy and freedom. It is not possible to extract this energy of freedom from a frequency of restriction and resentment. My work is designed and produced in sacred space for the purpose of empowering the disempowered, inspiring the despondent and encouraging the genius in each of you to step up and be seen. You are needed! Everyone is needed, the world must take the leap into the next dimension as a unified whole. This is a brand new concept for a group of individuals like ourselves who have spent the better part of our ten thousand year history focusing on our differences instead of our common ground!

How do we become a unified field of consciousness? Quan Yin is the name given in China to the Goddess of Mercy. She is also the Goddess of children, martial arts and anyone that feel hopeless and powerless. She is said to have been born from a tear of the Buddha’s Eye Who owned then through buying their attention not wear ornaments and become ornamental creatures for the pleasure of others. And ready to be seen and to be counted amongst the warriors for change upon the earth. This a time of enormous shift, this is called the “end time”. What does that mean?
